Before installing the new Alfa156 front brake kit, I measured the weight of the component to do the before and after comparison.
The weight of the 330 mm disc is 10.2kg that is 67% more than the original 284 mm version. On the contrary, the new caliper is much lighter. As the result, roughly the new caliper and disc together is about 2kg heavier.
4kg (2kg per side x 2) increment is not something that we can ignore, but the story doesn’t stop here
The new wheel seems to be lighter. The net weight increment is around 1kg x 2.
In a nutshell, I significant improved the braking performance with the price of 2kg weight increment. Is it worth to doing so? Crossing my fingers.
