Renew Alfa156 brake hoses

I always thought that I’d installed braided stainless steel brake hoses on my Alfa 156 when I upgraded the front caliber, I didn’t – my mechanic told me. The front calibers had ordinary rubber hoses, on the contrary, the rear calibers had stainless steel braided hoses. hmm……

While the front hoses are rather new as they were newly installed during the caliber upgrade a few years ago, the rear hoses looked tired.

7 years after replacing the 156 ABS pump, the warning light came back

Learnt from the previous experience, I have stocked 2 156 ABS pumps that suit my per-facelift TS model. One more thing I learnt is that it is not necessary to replace the entire ABS unit.

Brake power faded

I felt the brake power faded about one week after installing the 305mm brake system, The brake pedal felt very soft when depressing and the rebound was slow. The first thing in my mind was: hell, I’ve just spent over 2000 pounds to get the caliper right with all the pain; what have I done to deserve all these……
