The previous owner has upgraded the Alfa156 exhaust system with a Supersprint muffler. I do like the sound it produces. The exhaust note is a bit louder than the stock and it matches the twin spark engine note very well. It is also said a set of good exhaust system can enhance the power. Hence, I plan to upgrade mine step by step. And I started with a component with a lower threshold.
I aim at having the entire exhaust system composed by the same brand. So here it is another Supersprint product. It is a centre pipe.
Any difference as the results?
Yes and no. It doesn’t sound better nor go faster. Having said that, I don’t feel the difference doesn’t mean it is useless. Maybe you can. However, I like it and I’m one step closer to my target.

I’d say merely upgrading the Alfa156 exhaust system with the centre pipe may not make much sense. As a toy for having fun, making sense is not always the most important consideration, is it?

Glad that you like it. Many fellows have upgraded to GTA. 2.0TS does has its own charisma.

With petrol prices hitting richman only levels, anyone with a GTA is afraid to fill the tank let alone drive the thing hard. A worked 2ltr is looking pretty “‘fly”‘ right now.

Indeed, the maintenance costs of the V6, both 2.5 and 3.2 are much higher than the 2.0. Anyway, with the reduced time of driving due to the high petrol price, let’s enjoy every second that we are behind the wheel
