Replacing Alfa 156 evaporator – Part 1

After I’ve replaced the condenser, the dryer, and all hoses in the engine bay, the refrigerant leakage still occurs. My mechanic and I, without choice had our eyes staring at the dashboard. Likely, something happened beneath. We decided to give it one more shot to test the system with the refrigerant leak detector. No leakage found in the engine bay. It is an unfortunate finding, albeit it is kind of expected as the condenser, air con hoses and the dryer are all brand new. I suspected that it was the evaporator leaking. I had 2 choices to fix it

After I replaced the broken refrigerant pipe, I enjoyed very much of having a cool and comfort cabin for …… 3 WEEKS. It is really frustrating when we thought a haunting issue has been finally resolved. My mechanic checked the system again and found that the refrigerant leakage was still there and it has gone completely again.

Alfa156 air refrigerant leak – Part 1

The Alfa156 air conditioning system used to work fine though it is not excellent in terms of cooling down the cabin. But on one day, it produced no cold air at all. Checked the refrigerant level, it was low. Refilled the refrigerant, it resumed working but didn’t last for 2 weeks. After a more thorough examination, this is what we found
