The Alfa156 air conditioning system used to work fine though it is not excellent in terms of cooling down the cabin. But on one day, it produced no cold air at all. Checked the refrigerant level, it was low. Refilled the refrigerant, it resumed working but didn’t last for 2 weeks. After a more thorough examination, this is what we found
No one has the idea how the hose came to this state. The challenge is to get the replacement.
- On a lot of Alfa parts specialist marketplaces, they don’t sell air conditioning system parts
- Another difficulty is to find the right parts for RHD cars
- Parts are different between original models and face-lifted models
As a result, I got one genuine parts from ebay, then found out that it is for the JTS 2.0 model, not my TS. After about 4 months search around, I found the right one, not sure if it is the last one available on the net.
Good to have the air conditioning system back in the hot and humid summer here. When it works, the Alfa156 air conditioning system of the TS models is quite capable.
