I always thought that I’d installed braided stainless steel brake hoses on my Alfa 156 when I upgraded the front caliber, I didn’t – my mechanic told me. The front calibers had ordinary rubber hoses, on the contrary, the rear calibers had stainless steel braided hoses. hmm……
While the front hoses are rather new as they were newly installed during the caliber upgrade a few years ago, the rear hoses looked tired.

New brake hoses
Since my front caliber is originally designed for Mito QV, I need to buy a set of brake hoses for Mito QV and another set of brake hoses for Alfa 156 in order to get a new full set of braided hoses for my car.

A more challenging requirement is that my mechanic suggested finding a set of hoses with L-shape connectors for the front caliper. The objective is to reduce the space occupied by the hose connector.

I can imagine the space needed if the connector is a straight-fit type. It took me a few weeks to find the Technik brand from the UK.

is there a big difference after all new hoses are installed? Very little, be frank. I guess it is because the replaced front hoses are pretty new that the difference is subtle. And the difference would be noticeable with frequent, very hard braking. However, I expect that they should last longer.
