Repainting the Alfa 156 front bumper

Since I had the Alfa 156, I had parked it in a roof-less car park. With the rent went up, the price difference for an indoor shelter became justifiable. However, the Novitec front spoiler didn’t provide enough clearance to let the car get in and out of the multi-storey car park without scratching the spoiler. I decided to remove the front spoiler. Then I found the front bumper’s paint is really in bad condition.

About My Alfa Romeo 156

Manufactured in 2000, my Alfa Romeo 156 was made for the market of the United Kingdom. Instead of being imported into the UK, a parallel importer brought it to Hong Kong in 2001. The car is a 2.0 Twin Spark model equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, luckily it is not the “well-known” Selespeed box; the trim level is Sport Pack II*.

At the time when I was looking for an Alfa, I’d considered 3 model choices, they were 164, 75 and 156. And I had 2 criteria in mind:

  1. It must have a manual gearbox, absolutely NO Selespeed or automatic box
  2. A Busso V6 was preferred
