Alfa 156 headlamps upgrade

My Alfa 156 headlamps are the traditional halogen type. And I always thought that they are too dim if not totally useless, especially in the underground car parks. It seems that it is a very common compliant from Alfa 156 users on different forums. Starting with the cheapest and the simplest way, I got this to replace the dipped headlamp bulbs

Under daylight, it is hard to tell the difference from the picture, but human eyes can easily tell the left beam (the right side on the picture) is much whiter.

The visibility in the evening is improved a bit with the new dipped beam light bulbs. However, I still felt that it is not up to my expectation. The factory-fit HID Alfa 156 headlamps on the face-lifted model is my next target.

Got hit and run

My brother told me that my 156 got hit and run in the car park. As a result, the rear bumper had many visible damage.  WTF!  😱

A close inspection found the following damages:

  • Left light reflector broken
  • Plate light module fallen
  • Two visible paint scratches, then a lot of paint scratches found under sunlight
  • Rear bumper was pushed inwards and became misaligned

Alfa 156 side light bulbs change

The lamp warning light is on after I switched on the side light in the tunnel.  It turned out that the left side light bulb is gone.  “Should be a small problem” I thought.  Checked the owner manual for the bulb’s model. I went to buy the replacement and the challenge has just begun.
